This November is set to be a big one, with two new models of Barbless Trout Hooks being launched, as well as our rang of Carp Fly Hooks, a first for the Australian market. These are now in-house and going through quality control checks as I am writing this. Then it’s into the packaging process. For these hooks, we have a lighter tones header card, with a barb in the logo, so you’ll instantly know the difference between them and the Barbless Trout Hooks. Once again, the team at Printworks Shepparton, the best printers in the Goulburn Valley, have taken care of our artwork and printing needs, so everything is ready to go.
With these three models of hooks, we’ve taken the guesswork out of finding the right hook when flyfishing for carp. We begin with three models, in several appropriate sizes, designed for a range of carp fly patterns, with additional sizes coming in 2026.
Testing of sample hooks for this range was put into process over the winter months, and into Spring, with excellent results. With this, we are confident in bringing this range of hooks to the Australian market knowing that they will stand up against the biggest of fish, whilst offering the fly tyer and fly fisherman a size, shape and profile that delivers on what they need.
The Goulburn Steel Carp Hook range will be launched next week, but if you’re keen to see the models now, you can find all the information HERE!
Watch our social media releases for more information on when these hooks will be available over the coming days!
For now, if you’re a store that is interested in becoming a Goulburn Steel dealer, please get in touch today. If you’re a commercial fly tyer looking to joing our Commercial Tying Program, send us an email and tell us about your business.
For those of you tying your own flies to fish, or simply for enjoyment at the vise, we hope you love our products as much as we do.
