It’s all go here in the Goulburn Valley as we continue to grow the range of fly tying hooks for Australia and New Zealand. This month has seen some new additions to our existing range of barbless hooks. We have added two new models, as well as some additional sizes in existing models.
Firstly, the 3259 Pupa Hook has been included after many requests for a hook of this elk. It’s a great multi-use hook, that is just as at home for pupa and scud patterns as it is for emergers and dries. The 3259 offers a straight eye, curved body and wide gape.
Next, we have the 5241 Jig Wide Hook, the second jig hook offering in this range. Again, because you guys asked for it, we have delivered. What this offers over the 5230 is a wider gape, which is countered with a heavier wire, to ensure additional holding power. Ideal for Euro style nymphs and deep nymphing techniques where you want your fly along the bottom of the stream bed.
AS well as these two new models, we also have some additional sizes added to our existing range, with size #18 hooks now available in our 3223 Barbless Grub, 4214 Barbless Dry, ad 6224 Barbless Nymph. Additional sizes in other models of the Classic Trout range are expected some time in March.
